It's really refreshing to read your blog. Previously I'd been taking DeLong as a kind of de facto face of academic economics -- and a pretty face it is not. With all the hosannas that DeLong's crooned to Dear Larry and Maestro Al over the years, I'd decided that the econ departments are a kind of halfway house for idiot savants.
